Minutes
We didn't really follow the agenda, so these are approximately in order of discussion.
Conference update
- PM suggested we consider choosing a period outside of university term time for next year's conference for better availability of venues.
- Audio-visual equipment is being handled by the venue this year.
- The lecterns have wired net connections on a different network to the general use wireless network.
- MR has booked at Thai Square near Trafalgar Square for a pre-conference dinner on 28 February after which the speakers will meet the user group at the Theodore Bullfrog. RG to attend the pub meeting on 28 February to set up for the talk. The executive to let MR know whether they will be attending the dinner.
- MR to organise post-conference dinner/drinks for 29 February
- PM reports conference bags have arrived but are no good. Replacements are due on 26 February.
- Prizes from ActiveState have arrived as have most of the book prizes. O'Reilly will bring some books on the day. PM to check the venue can provide trolleys for moving the O'Reilly books as DT advised they may bring a lot.
- Conference helpers to turn up between 07:30 and 08:30 at the conference venue on 29 February.
- MR to bring the projector and screen to the conference venue.
- Delegate badges will be printed in advance by the venue.
- T-shirts for conference helpers will be printed next week.
- MR will introduce and close the event. Room managers will introduce individual speakers.
- There is space to overrun each talk but DT advised we need to ensure time is kept to. PM to ensure a measure to kill the microphone is in place.
- The smaller room has a capacity of 75. We will count people in and then turn them away when the room is full.
- There is a tag for blogging: phplondon08.
- We will be distributing prizes throughout the day as there are many.

- We will continue to charge £50 for job adverts.
